PSIMA carries out its national work through specialised bureaus that focus on key domains of psychology development, policy engagement, and academic coordination.

PSYCHOLOGICAL ACT
This bureau coordinates advocacy, consultation, and stakeholder engagement related to the development of a Psychology Act and professional recognition frameworks in Malaysia. Its work focuses on ethical practice, public protection, professional standards, and policy dialogue with relevant authorities and stakeholders.

PROFESSIONAL WELL-BEING AND SUPPORT
This bureau addresses the wellbeing, resilience, and professional sustainability of psychologists and psychology practitioners. Its scope includes peer support, professional wellbeing initiatives, capacity building, and addressing work-related psychological challenges within the profession.

ACADEMIC COUNCILS AND INTERNATIONALISATIONS
This bureau oversees academic coordination among institutions offering psychology programmes and promotes international collaboration. Its scope includes curriculum dialogue, research collaboration, academic mobility, and strengthening the global standing of Malaysian psychology education and scholarship.

ETHICS AND PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT
This bureau promotes ethical awareness, professional integrity, and responsible conduct in psychology. It provides guidance on ethical principles, professional behaviour, and best practices, and supports education and discussion on ethics within the psychology community.

BRANDING AND VISIBILITY
This bureau is responsible for strengthening PSIMA’s public presence, professional image, and communication strategy. It manages branding, media engagement, digital platforms, and outreach initiatives to enhance visibility, credibility, and public understanding of psychology and PSIMA’s role.

HUMAN INTERACTION AND ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENT
This bureau examines the psychological dimensions of human interaction with technology and artificial intelligence. Its work includes research, policy discussion, and professional dialogue on human-AI interaction, digital behaviour, ethical implications, and the psychological impact of emerging technologies.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH AND SERVICES
This bureau focuses on applying psychological knowledge to community needs through outreach, service initiatives, and collaborative programmes. It supports activities related to mental health awareness, psychosocial support, education, and community empowerment, particularly among underserved populations.
